Decission day
There was a lot of activity at the weather observatory this morning. Three figures (I could make out gender nor feature in the formless white overalls that bulged around their respective personae) stacked a great many boxes onto a snow truck and scooted off somewhere. Dusty snow of early winter billowed from its revolving tracks. They came back without the boxes.
In the afternoon I inspected my own formidable dwelling and I contemplated how many of those boxes it would take to convey the contents of my subterranean dwelling. The surprising conclusion of this mental exercise was; Not many. I am after all a rabbit, a bunny if you will. I do own many business interests, bonds and stakes; mostly intangibles though, safely ensconced in foreign accounts, vaults and coffers. As to the material amenities of everyday life, I don't have many. My Ferrari's sit stored in Monaco (my official residence for tax reasons), so are my Fabergé carrots. I could leave today with nothing more than a suitcase under my paw. The alarming words of Svenbärd still blinked in my lobe like a warning light on a plane foretelling imminent system failure. Maybe the time has come for me to pack up and go someplace warm. Warm and safe. Sure, I haven't seen the dog in a long time but to remain any longer I feel would be all but a slap in the face of fate.
Thusly I decide; Goodbye dear lair, beautiful abode. Goodbye Svalbard. Perhaps we meet again some day. Adieu.
